CLASHING CULTURES

Many people are facing huge problems with clashing cultures in United States of America. For example, a lot of people comes to the States from Middle Eastern countries with Muslim background. Over number of years, the parent’s changes a little bit while the kids grow up and learn everything here. When it comes time for them to start dating and get married, the parents wants them to have arrange marriages like how they were married themselves. The kids being raised here does not want to hear, that they have to marry their first cousins (it is very common for people to marry their cousins in many Middle Eastern countries). This kind of difference creates family bond breaking problems within that family. I am not saying the parents are wrong or the kids, but this is just how their lives are. They are constantly fighting their discussions, to either make their parents happy or do what makes them happy.

                                                                       FACE BOOK

When I hear the word media I idiomatically think about Face Book. Face Book has grown so much since it first started in so many ways. When I first joined face book, it was not popular and now that I think about it, it did not have much more to offer than myspace for it's users. Over the years face book grow raptly, in many ways, one of which is gorps. Face book now has gorps, where people can like a gorp/page and in that page there you become part of it, you get notification when ever any one in that page uploads anything. These pages are very helpful for people who wants to stay inform about a topic. I personally am very interested in Afghan culture, so I liked a page called Afghan Girls vs. Boys, and in this page people from Afghanistan who are living all over the world writes about Afghanistan. It is really cool how I can learn so much about my country without taking classes or having to hear it from parents, it is a fun way of learning in my opinion. Another awesome thing about face book is that it keeps me connected to my family and friends. I have cousins that I have not seen in the past 10 years but I still know everything that is going on in their lives, do to media.

This is media!!!

                                                                         MED MEN

There is a interesting TV show that I watch, it is called Med Men. I did not really looked it up to see when it was filmed but I am guessing it was filmed in the last 10 years. So in this program it shows how the work forces were, long before men and women were allowed to do the same jobs. They have certain jobs for men and others for women. For example, the men always does big projects and the women are their secretary. These women are not just their secretary, they have sexual relationships with their bosses as well, even though the bosses are married and the secretary are usually young and beautiful ladies. I like this show, because it represents how everything used to be. It also makes me thankful that I was not born in that era, I do not think I would have handled it like those women in Med Men. Watching these kind of shows makes an individual like myself be grateful for everything that I am allowed to do. Another reason why I feel so connected to this show is because, I was born in a Muslim family, which means there are a lot of things I am not allowed to do. Thankfully I am in the States, (away from strict family members) which allows me to be my own person. Muslim culture is like how this show is, men are valued more then women, because they think that women can not handle many things in life.
The men in this video is the ladies boss.
